When I got home from my real job yesterday (you did know that I have a full-time job in addition to being a blogging, running, cooking, cleaning never-allowed-to-sit-down mommy didn’t you?), I was SO excited to find a package waiting for me.
A few weeks ago, I entered the NuNaturals giveaway that was held by Erin @ The Grass Skirt blog. Erin and I recently met at The Healthy Living Summit and she is one of the sweetest people I have met, so I was thrilled when I received a message from her that I was one of the winners of her giveaway.
In addition to all of the products shown above, NuNaturals provided me with dozens and dozens or delicious healthy recipes to try. I am so excited to get in the kitchen and start baking things like Almond Butter Banana Nut Muffins, Banana Pumpkin Bread, Flourless Chocolate Cake, Healthy Carrot Cake Cookies and Low Sugar Pumpkin Roll. Mmmm. (Is anyone else crazy excited that fall is around the corner so that pumpkin can be a part of every recipe?)
Too bad that baking will have to take a backseat for a few days, because my family is going out of town for the Labor Day weekend. Yes, you heard me right. I will be packing a suitcase for the third time in three weeks. I’m really good at packing, but I am a slacker at unpacking. In fact, I may still have a suitcase sitting on the floor from the Healthy Living Summit two weeks ago and another one sitting downstairs still packed from our family staycation to the Great Wolf Lodge.
Last night, I was in the mood to cook dinner so while Trey made each of the kids a grilled cheese sandwich, I was busy making us this delicious dinner.
Adult dinnertime was a little later than usual (meaning after the kids had already eaten) but it gave Trey and I a chance to sit down together at the table, enjoy a glass of wine together and talk about his upcoming training schedule for the Rock n Roll Las Vegas Half Marathon.
I am still trying to talk him into the run thru wedding ceremony during the half marathon. We could renew our vows and complete our first half marathon together in the same day. How cool would it be to say “I got married in Vegas!!!”
After dinner, I needed something sweet for dessert so I had some Crème Caramel Stonyfield Frozen Yogurt.
To be honest, I wait until the kids are in bed before I pull this out of the freezer so I don’t have to share. I’m selfish with my dessert that way.
Now I need to go and start making a list of what I need to pack for this weekend. I told you I was good at packing…
Are you a planner when it comes to packing or do you just throw random things into your suitcase at the last minute? Do you think we should get married in Las Vegas during the half-marathon?
